Sound Bath & Drum Circle
We'll begin with an hour-long Sound Bath with facilitators Tina Massimi & Kim Comer. We'll encourage intention setting & offer space for anyone to check in prior to beginning. Sound bathing is an amazing way to quiet mental chatter, reduce anxiety, align the mind, body & spirit with the present moment & raise your vibration to resonate with higher frequencies that will aid in the body's innate repair & healing abilities. We'll use the sounds created with gongs, crystal & Tibetan bowls, frame & ocean drums, bells, Koshi chimes & more. After the sound bath we will take a short break & then step in to a high vibin' interactive healing drum circle with experienced facilitator Kim Comer. Group drumming can complement traditional talk therapy methods. Players can drum out their feelings without saying a word or without having to reveal their issues. Drumming circles, ensembles, and making music together in a group can be a unifying experience, encouraging self-expression, camaraderie, and lots of hands-on fun! Drumming together breaks down barriers, builds personal and team confidence, releases stress & emotional trauma, accelerates physical healing & promotes relaxation, boosts the immune system, produces feelings of well being, and motivates & creates spontaneity.
Djembe Drums & percussion instruments will be available for the group to use, however if you have your own, please bring them!

Tina Massimi w/ Just Breathe Sound has been practicing for about 8 years & certified through Sedona Soul Harmonics 2 years ago. She began practicing sound healing in a drug & alcohol treatment center. Seeing the positive response from participants, it was clear this was a form or medicine for healing that was wanted & needed for people in recovery & beyond. "Being a woman in recovery 22 years myself & unraveling my own healing journey, I have personal experience & an abundance of results from this type of medicine. I have facilitated & co-facilitated many sound/drum circles in which I have witnessed others reach new depths & gain access to their own organic ability to heal self."

Kim Comer established Rhythm of Life Drumming in 2014 and has facilitated drum circles for addiction recovery and healing communities throughout Texas, moving the practice to the greater Pacific NW in 2020. In her years of community-based drumming, she's developed a personal style of drum circle facilitation based mainly on techniques taught by Arthur Hull (Village Music Circles), and shaped by her own innate sense of the deep human connection between rhythm, community, and spirituality. "As I continue on this path, it’s become one of my primary life goals to promote community drumming so that more and more people can experience the joy and well-being of participating in drum circles. As these times we are living in become increasingly stressful, the value of communal drumming for promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual health feels all the more important to me, which strengthens my commitment to share this practice wherever and however I can. The benefits of this practice are endless."
