Our February Sound Healing Event Was.... WOW!
Jenny Houston | FEB 20, 2023
We were promised an epic event, and it WAS!
Tina Massimi and Kim Comer first introduced themselves to the group and touched on their own personal journeys to sound healing, while showing us such warmth & genuine kindness. They gave us an introduction to what things we might experience during the 2-hour event and explained how feelings might come up - we were to breathe through them, and FEEL them. This would be an energetic experience and the purpose was to relax, feel and heal. We were invited to add to the alter at the center of the circle an item we might've brought with us - something we felt was in need of clearing or of collecting healing vibrations from the room.
Over the next 40 minutes or so, the two healers moved around the room and filled our ears, hearts, & bodies with delicious sounds - various drums, sound bowls, chimes, tuning forks, and the powerful gong. Waves of vibrations took us on heightened adventures.... leaving the group with lingering effects. Words like calm, relaxed, rejuvenated, powerful, rage, anxiety, grounded, and blissed out came up when we checked in, evidence that each of us received different medicine, depending on what is/was living within us and what is/was ready to move through.

We took a short break, then moved to the drum circle. We each grabbed an instrument and Kim showed us some techniques and rhythms. Any time we got off track, she explained that we could return to the main beat and step back into the rhythm. She gave us complete permission to mess us and not know what the heck we're doing - this was going to be a place of 100% acceptance and zero judgment.
The acoustics in the studio reverberated more than what's ideal for an indoor room, and at times it was difficult for our novice group to hear each other. And then we got to see what an incredible teacher Kim is! On the spot, she used her decades of skills and training to refocus the group, to help us stay in time with each other, to keep up with her pace, and to listen. There were a few times when it got so loud and so powerful, we couldn't help but scream and yell and use our voices to release pent up/stuck energy. It was fantastic!!

If you were lucky enough to receive a hug from one of these women, you're probably STILL feeling their love. Just to be in the room with them, their extremely powerful energy was imminent. Magnetic, heartfelt, loving, authentic, and truthful are a few (of many) words to describe them. The time it took for them to load their gear in Tacoma & Poulsbo, then to drive to the peninsula, unload their gear, set up, fill the room with beautiful intentions & inspirations, then to do it all over again in reverse after the event shows us how dedicated they are to healing hearts & communities. We were so fortunate to have this opportunity.... and we'll be fortunate again.... next month!!
If you missed out and you want in... OR... if you were there and you want to be there again..... our next Sound Bath & Drum Circle is scheduled for Sunday, March 19th. Click here for more details and to save yourself a spot. It is by donation/pay-what you-can. Suggested amount is $25 (which is peanuts compared to what you'll gain from attending!). If you'd like to pay cash on the day, enter $0 at registration.
Thank you for blessing our space, Tina and Kim!! We eagerly await your return!!
