How Are You Sleeping?

Jenny Houston | MAR 20, 2023

Poor sleep can lead to a range of problems, both in the short term and over the long term. Some of the most common problems associated with poor sleep include:

  1. Daytime fatigue: When you don't get enough sleep, you're likely to feel tired and groggy during the day. This can affect your ability to concentrate, work, and participate in activities.
  2. Mood changes: Poor sleep has been linked to mood changes, including increased feelings of irritability, anxiety, and depression.
  3. Cognitive impairment: Lack of sleep can impair your ability to think clearly, remember information, and make decisions.
  4. Increased risk of accidents: When you're tired, your reaction times are slower, and you're more likely to have accidents while driving or operating machinery.
  5. Weakened immune system: Poor sleep can weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to illness and infection.
  6. Weight gain: Lack of sleep has been linked to weight gain and obesity, as it can disrupt the hormones that regulate hunger and satiety.
  7. Increased risk of chronic health problems: Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to an increased risk of health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

Overall, poor sleep can have a significant impact on your physical and mental health, as well as your overall quality of life.

And this is where our next breathwork journey can HELP!

This Sunday, the theme is "The Best Sleep of Your Life".

Regenerative Breathwork Journeys are deeply relaxing and soothing experiences.

First, you'll experience an informative workshop where you'll learn and practice calming breathing techniques for the breathwork journey. These techniques are designed to shut down the sympathetic “fight-or-flight” nervous system and activate the parasympathetic 'rest-and-digest' nervous system. And then, after a short break, the event will move into the "Regenerative Breathwork Journey".

Soothing music, special breathing rhythms, and binaural beats will gently filter through the headsets we’ll provide. And along the way, Noah, our certified coach, will offer light bodywork to help relax the cardiovascular system and facilitate deeper somatic energy releases. The calming musical playlist is tuned to 432 hz, the frequency of the earth, and has been edited with a voiceover that includes encouraging statements, instructions on when to switch techniques, spoken countdowns, and breathing sounds to keep participants breathing properly.
